History about music videos

What is a music video?

A music video is a video or maybe a short film where  a complete piece of music is accompanied, a song is most common.

Initially modern music videos were made and used as a marketing device intending to promote the sale of music recordings

Example...

An early example of a music video was the St Louis Blue/s by bessie smith in 1929 where she appeared in a two-reel short film called saint louis blues in 1929 featuring a dramatized performance of the hit song. It was actually shown in theatres until 1932.

Another exmaple of one of the first music videos is the Queens Bohemian Rhapsody
